Log Cabin on site – planning needed to live in during build?

I’ve just purchased a garden plot with full planning permission for a house. We will be re-submitting an application as we don’t like existing plans. Included on the plot there is a 30sqmetre log cabin that was used as a garden house and has only electrics. Do we need planning permission to run our new services to that and live in it whilst we build the house instead of living on a caravan on site? when the house is finished we would use it as guest accommodation. Any advice would be helpful before I approach the local council.
